Cookie decorating takes a little trial and error. We decided to
decorate this polar bear cookie here, so we tried out a few of our products.
The color details on this cookie were added with
candy writers.
The lines are a little thick, hopefully we will get better with practice.
After the icing details dried, we simply sprinkled the cookie with
white sanding sugar.
Luckily some of the sugar stuck to the cookie and gave the bear a frosty look.
The most popular way to decorate sugar cookies is to outline the cookie with a "dam"
of icing, then "flood" with icing.
Details added with
candy writers. Allow time to dry.
Then outline and flood cookie with white icing.
Details added first on this cookie, using a
black candy writer. Then, the cookie was outlined
and flooded with white icing. The white icing covered some of the thick candy writer lines. Before
the icing sets, sprinkle entire cookie with
white sanding sugar.
Allow to dry, then knock off extra sugar and re-use.
